Mrs. Ethel Mae Gaskins of Greenville, Tenn. formerly of Harrisburg departed
this life Monday afternoon, July 27, 2009 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital in
Greenville at the age of 70.
She was born September 13, 1938 in Fisher, the daughter of Robert Raymond
Drum and Anna Mae Drum. Ethel retired after working thirty-five years for
Spaulding Composites Company in DeKalb, Illinois. She was of the Pentecostal
belief and a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 745 in Sycamore,
Illinois for thirty-two years. She enjoyed fishing, quilting, gardening,
collecting angels and watching movies. Most of all, she just enjoyed
spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Raymond Drum and a grandson,
Dustin Taylor.
She is survived by two sons, Terry Lee Gaskins and Jerry Lynn Gaskins both
of Greenville; a daughter, Patricia Paulette Pouti of Superior, Wisconsin;
her mother, Anna Mae Drum of Harrisburg; two sisters, Sallie Mabel Reese and
Carol Ann Stringer both of Harrisburg; four brothers, Roy Lee Drum, David
Ray Drum, Roger Richard Drum all of Harrisburg and Tim Grant Drum of
Neelyville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Robert “Bobby” Taylor, Michael
Taylor, Cody Gaskins, Jerry Lynn Gaskins II and Colton Reed Gaskins; four
great-grandchildren, Isabelle Taylor, Corbin Taylor, Brooke Taylor and Nola
Taylor.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 31, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Gregg-Weston
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harlon Banks officiating. Interment will
follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 30, 2009, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the
Gregg-Weston Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
Active pallbearers are Mitchell Drum, Sherman Drum, Bob Chandler, Robert
“Bob” Reese, Travis Drum and Jeff Drum and as honorary pallbearers, Richard
Drum and Bobby Peifer.
