OCCUPATION: Mrs. Shanks began working when she was 16 and continued work for 73 years. She has worked as a Floral Designer for 67 years beginning at Rhea Floral Company when her husband went off to serve in the Navy during World War II. Her love for flowers and designing continued until her illness was diagnosed at the end of June.
Church Membership: Trinity United Methodist Church
ORGANIZATIONS: Andrew Johnson Club in 1950’s; Girl Scout Troop 235 Leader for 3 years; Chuckey Home Demonstration Club in the 70’s and 80’s, Trinity United Methodist Women’s Maude Landmesser Circle; Trinity United Methodist Beacon Light Club Sunday School class.
