REMARKS: Mr. Bacon grew up on a farm in Parrottsville with his parents, Tom & Roe Fancher Bacon. and the family operated Bacon and Son Grocery for several years. He was lovingly known as Dad, Papaw, and Grandad. Mr. Bacon moved to Greene County in 1949 and married Louise Hogan Bacon, a school teacher and loving mother to their 3 children. He later married Helen Manning Bacon. Mr. Bacon was a veteran of World War II where he served aboard the USS Eaton DD510 in the United States Navy. Special thank to the staffs of the VA Medical Center at Mountain, Laughlin Memorial, and Takoma HospitalThe family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Thursday at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service. It is requested that family and friends meet at 12 noon on Friday at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service to go in procession to the cemetery for the graveside service.
