Arleen Sluder Hayes, 86, of Afton, died Saturday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Hayes retired from 3M Company in Chattanooga.
She had worked with the Foster Grandparents at Greene Valley Developmental Center.
Mrs. Hayes was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was the widow of Ruben Hayes.
Survivors include her stepson: Edwin Hayes of Decatur; a sister: Honey Shell of the Fairview community; a half-brother: Joe Bob Sluder; a brother-in-law: Claude Wallin of the Fairview community; several nieces and nephews; and her special caregivers: the staff of Caris Healthcare & Hospice.
She was a daughter of the late Bruce and Ninnie Ross Sluder and was preceded in death by two sisters: Dorothy Milligan and Ruth Wallin; and two brothers: J.C. Sluder and Walter Sluder.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Rex Brown will officiate.
A committal service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning in Fairview Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tom Shell, Buzz Milligan, Danny Sluder, Chuck Milligan, Vernon Kirk, and Norman Aldridge.
