Barbara Raines

Barbara Jean Raines, 67, of Greeneville, Tennessee, passed away in her home on March 20th, 2024. She was born in Greeneville, Tennessee, in 1956 to Louise and Homer Jones. She spent her life as a homemaker, mother, and loving grandmother. Barbara was an avid animal lover and gardener whom was often referred to as “a mother to all”. She played a crucial part in the upbringing of her grandchildren. They often spent their Summers with her learning about gardening and playing outdoors. Barbara was proceeded in death by her parents, Homer and Louise Jones; and brother, Homer Eugene Jones Jr. (Baby Junior). Barbara is survived by her sisters, Sandra Burkey, Tonya Myers, and Anita (Nikki)
Jones; brother, Ricky Jones; step-sister, Sonya Barnes, her children and their spouses, Valina and Dewayne Bentley, Sammy and Sue Garber, and Cindy Holt; a special granddaughter, whom she raised, Katlyn Garber; several grandchildren, Valisha Sharpe, Jimmy (JJ) Jennings, Brandee Freeman, Summer Bowman, Nathan Brown, Shyan Brown, and Bethany Shiflet; a special great-granddaughter, Zaylee Garber; several other great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Sandra Brown. The immediate family will be having a small celebration of life and service for Barbara at a later time. The family would like to give a special Thank you to Barbara’s daughter-in-law, Sue Garber for all the care and
companionship she gave to Barbara.
