Betye Farmer Obituary (1954 - 2025) - Greeneville, Tennessee

Betye Myers Farmer, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at her home after a lengthy battle with dementia. Betye was born on February 25, 1954, to Marcella and Henry Myers in Memphis, Tennessee. Betye, her husband, John, and her son, Chris moved to Greeneville, Tennessee in 1995 to establish an independent agency for Mercer Transportation, and to be closer to family. Betye is survived by her husband, John Farmer; her son, Chris (Cara) Johns; stepsons Joey (Teryl) Farmer, and Wesley (Kenzie) Farmer; stepdaughter Alicia (Jason) Pollard; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marcella Myers, her brother, Richard Myers, and her stepson, Aaron Farmer. Our family would like to extend a deep appreciation to Betye’s cousins, Norma (Ken) Riddle, and Gail Myers; her sister-in-law Ellen Myers; and her nephews Brad and Tim (Dinie) Myers for all the support, assistance, and kindness they have provided. At the request of the family, a private graveside service will be scheduled imminently. Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Services, Greeneville, Tennessee, is assisting the family.
