Billy “Bill” Ray Hensley, 72, of Limestone, passed away at the Johnson City Medical Center on July 4, 2021. He was a loving husband for 53 years. He was a very loving and caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a member of Oak Dale Union Church. He loved his Nieces and Nephews as his own kids. He loved camping and gardening and he had the biggest heart of anyone you would have ever known.\n \nHe is survived by his wife Shelia Dotson Hensley; grandchildren: Je’an-Luc Jackson (Kara), Sara Jackson, Gunner Nanney & BreAnna Crawford, JJ Mahaffey; great-grandchildren: Ayeden Jackson, Lexus Jackson, Morpheus Clark, Sophie Jackson, and Athena Clark; brothers and sisters: Diane Plemons (Hebert), Earl Arwood, Shirley Smith, Cecil Hensley Jr (Becky), David Hensley (Denise), Robbie Hensley (Karen); brothers and sisters-in-law: Marce Dotson (Louise) Lena Faye Keene, Velma Ruth Gregg (Michael); and well-loved Nieces and Nephews.\n \nHe was preceded in death by his daughter: Becky Smelcer; parents: Cecil & Arzela Hensley; brother: Anthony Hensley; sister: Linda Roberson; brother-in-law: Michael Keene; sister-in-law: Lillian Gregg.\n \nThe family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 5-7pm at Jeffers Funeral Chapel in Afton. The Funeral will be at 1pm on Thursday, July 8, 2021 in Afton Chapel with the Rev. Michael Woodward, Rev. Michael Garland, and the Rev. Danny Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt.
