Billy James Lane age 73 of Mosheim passed away at Greeneville Community Hospital Monday February 14, 2022. He was a US Army Veteran serving 1968-1972 operating heavy machinery in Korea. He was a member of Lowland Baptist Church and was retired from armed security with the TA Travel Center. He is survived by his wife of 44yrs Lisa Willett Lane, 2 sons and daughters-in-law Billy and Chrissy Lane and Matthew and Taylor Willett, 2 daughters and son-in-law Brenda and Scott McGhee, Kayla Willett, 2 grandchildren "his pride and joys" Asher Willett and Haven McGhee, brother and sister-in-law Lee and Judy Lane, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Sunny Lane, Michael and Sharon Willett, Rickey Willett, Becky Ricker, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Frances Brown Lane, brothers Grover Kay Lane, Charles David Lane, father-in-law Herman Willett, mother-in-law and spouse Pansy and Ed Cutshall, sister-in-law Amy Willett, brother-in-law Danny Willett, several aunts and uncles. The family will receive friends 1-3 and 5-7 pm Thursday at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown. The funeral service will be held at Friday 12 noon at Carpenters Chapel Church with Rev. Sonny Beaver and Rev. Richard Long officating . Burial will follow in Mosheim Missionary Baptist Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Greene County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Teddy Willett, Cody Gosnell, Jonathan Lane, Jimmy Lane, Matt Willett, Tilynn Willett, Jared Ricker, Jerry Deyton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Men at Carpenters Chapel Church.
