James Carroll Babb of Greeneville passed away Sunday March 12, 2023 at Four Oaks HealthCare. He was a loving husband, father, papaw, and pappy. He worked at Merkel Brothers Construction for 39 1/2 years. He attended Hill Street Church of God as long as his health permitted. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 1/2yrs Carolyn Babb, three daughters Tonya (James) Lisenby, Jamie (Eugene) Greene, Angie (Rick) Corvin, two stepdaughters Vickie (Guy Dean) Morgan and Amy (Russell) Stakiel, three grandsons Stephen Greene, Nathan and Brendan Lisenby, step grandson Chris Morgan, three step granddaughters Kimberly Summer and Autumn Taylor, Megan Morgan and her boyfriend Timothy "T" Blazer, two special great grandsons Grayson and Rhett Greene, three special step great grandsons Garrett and Case Morgan, and Tucker Arnett, two special step great granddaughters Madi Blazer and Kylee Morgan, two brothers Sam Babb, Robert (Sherry) Babb, brother-in-law David Melton, several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Madge Tullock Babb, sister Ina Ruth Melton, two brothers Charles Edward and Billy Babb, sister-in-law Cindy Babb. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm Friday at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown. A graveside service will be held 3pm Friday at Doty’s Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Adam Gaddis officiating. The family would like to thank Four Oaks HealthCare Center in Jonesborough and Gentiva Hospice in Johnson City for the wonderful care they gave to James "Carroll" Babb.
