Chris Schmutzler, age 59 of Mosheim, passed away at his home Wednesday July 3, 2019 after a hard fought battle with cancer.\nMr. Schmutzler, is survived by his wife: Michelle Greene Schmutzler; 2 sons; Khorey Schmutzler Valerie Alvizua of Greeneville, TN , Chase Schmutzler and Jordan Tolley of Newnan, GA; 2 step-sons: Aaron and Angela Monroe, Evan and Sarah Monroe; sister: Susan and Neil Kirshner of Lebanon, TN; 3 grandchildren: Kirsten Johnson and Mckayla Johnson, and Micah Monroe; 11 nieces and nephews.\nHe was preceded in death by his parents: Adolph and Loretta Jean Schmutzler.\nThe family will receive friends Friday, July 5, 2019 from 1-3PM & 5-7PM at Jeffers Funeral Service Downtown. The funeral service will follow visitation at 7PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Greene officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet, at the funeral home at 9:30AM Saturday to go in procession to the graveside service which will be held at 10:30AM at Greenelawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Khorey Schmutzler, Chase Schmutzler, Aaron Monroe, Evan Monroe, Austin Pinkston, Jacob Penton, Thomas Laughlin, and Randy Masters.
