Dennis "Dink" Seaton, age 67 of Greeneville, passed away on Friday, June 30th, 2023 from ALS, surrounded by his family. He fought a hard battle but succumbed to the illness in a few short months.\n\nDennis grew up in the Middle Creek community and attended Greystone Elementary School and South Greene High School. He had lived in the Jearoldstown community for the past 25 years. He was a loving husband, brother, step-father and the kindest man you could ever meet. He enjoyed his small farm and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He worked as a lineman for Star Construction Company for many years, eventually working his way up to supervisor of his own crew. He enjoyed his work and made many friends throughout the years. He just recently retired in January of 2021 before being diagnosed with his illness.\n\nLeft to cherish his memory are his three sisters, Fredna (Garry) Morrison, Mary Sue Clark, Pat (Gene) Ross; his stepdaughter, Janel Croy and her daughters, Farren Rickets and Sienna Roderick; and three step-grandchildren, Haylee and Addison Gosnell and Madeline Turner. Also surviving are his nieces, Kristie Morrison Peacock and Jennifer Morrison Forrest; his nephews, Lyle Ross, Tyler Ross, George Jennings III, a special nephew and co-worker, Jamie Riddle; several Great nieces and nephews; and his special furbaby of 13 years, his cat "Blackie", who has been adopted by a friend.\n\nPreceding him in death were his wife of 23 years, Frances "Fran" Carter Seaton; his father and mother, Fred and Reba (G'Fellers) Seaton; his brother, Samuel Leonard "Sam" Seaton; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Arville Riddle; and brother-in-law, Billy Carter. Also preceding him in death were his nephew, Anthony "Hambone" Seaton; niece, Brandie Riddle Owens; and an infant nephew, Tracy Edward Jennings.\n\nVisitation will be Thursday, July 6th from 5-7pm at Jeffers Funeral Chapel in Afton. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Robert L Johnson, officiating. Interment will be Friday, July 7th at 11:00am at Pleasant Hill CPC, Kingsport Hwy in Chuckey. Family and friends are asked to meet at Jeffers in Afton at 10:00am to go in procession to the cemetery. Pall bearers will be family members.\n\nThe family would like to thank the ALS Association of East TN and Amedisys Hospice for their care and support during his illness. Also, a special thanks to his extended caregivers: Beverly Marshall, Teresa Bledsoe, Savannah Murray and Jennifer Forrest.
