Edmond Pennington

Edmond (Ed) Dean Pennington, 88 peacefully passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025. Edmond was born June 29th, 1936, in Bradenton, Florida to the late William Fred and Elizabeth Bailey Pennington. He served as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War, stationed in South Korea. After Discharging from the Army, he joined the Florida Highway Patrol in 1957. He was stationed in Kissimmee, Florida where he raised his 5 Children with his wife Effie Pennington. He attained the rank of Lieutenant and retired after more than 34 years of Faithful and Honorable service to the State of Florida. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Edmond was not only a family man, but a successful entrepreneur. He operated several businesses including General Construction, Long Haul Trucking, Real Estate, and Property Investments. Edmond enjoyed traveling, raising animals and spending time outdoors on his farms with his family. He has enjoyed the last several years in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Edmond is predeceased by his two sons, Edmond Dean Pennington II, James Daniel Pennington, sister Melba Pennington Johnson, and sister-in-law Belva Pennington. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years Effie Mae Pennington; children: Carol Pennington of Greeneville, TN; Linda (Matt) Jaworski of Kissimmee, FL; and Debra Pennington of Lake Nona, FL; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother Gerald Pennington; sister Joanne Pennington; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Edmond was beloved by many. He was the patriarch of the family, providing constant steady guidance and was loved dearly. A service will be held at a later date in Florida.
