Freddy Owens

Freddy Charles Owens "Fred", 73, entered into eternal rest at his home Saturday, May 21, 2022. Fred worked for the Shipbuilders before working for a few exterminating companies until he ventured off on his own, spraying people's houses. Fred loved to watch tv, run the roads hot, "chasing wild women" as he would say, but most of all, Fred loved his family.

Freddy was preceded in death by his parents: Charles Owens and Ruby Bowman Owens; grandmother, whom he called "Momma: Lula Bowman; 2 brothers: Bill Bowman and Bob Bowman; half sisters; daughter: Kristy Spears.

He is survived by two sons: Jason (Stephanie) Owens, Steve (Lori) Owens; grandchildren: Chris Owens, Mia Southerland, Kristi "Gracie" Owens, Abby Owens, Savannah Owens, Lyndsay Nelson, and Dylan Nelson; special friend and brother: Terry Johnston; and numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 4-7PM at Jeffers Funeral Services Downtown. The graveside service will be Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 10AM at River Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Buster Shelton officiating. Please meet at the funeral home at 9:15 to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Bill Dixon, Corey Metcalf, Johnny Dabbs, and Billy Miller.

Donations may be to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
