Gail Christine Hopson Ayers, 79, of Tusculum, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at her home.\n \nShe is survived by her grandson: Cody Ayers; caregiver and former daughter-in-law: JoAnn Boyd; sister: Phyllis and Dr. Dave Saylor of FL; 2 brothers: Rex and Nadine Hopson, and Wayne Hopson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sandy Hopson, Nana Swanger, Nancy and Harold Chapman, Clarence “Jam Up” and Margaret Ayers; 2 special nieces: Rita Fletcher and Barbara Wright; several other nieces and nephews; special friends: Jerry Butler, Jimmy Walden, Janice Lawson, Marilyn Collier Nease.\n \nShe was preceded in death by her husband: Jack Ayers; son: Donald Ayers; parents: Dave and Carrie Hopson; infant brother: Klayton Kay Hopson; sister: Mary Pearl Madison; brother and sister in law: Blaine Hopson (Eudena); sister: Dean Bowman (Jay), Faye Harrison (Reed), Ina Hopson; brother: Lynn Hopson.\n \nGail attended Greystone FWB Church most of her life, but had joined and attended Lighthouse FWB in Tusculum, in recent years, she seldom missed a service. Gail was also a member of Eastern Star.\n \nThe family would like to express a special thank you to Ballad Hospice.\n \nThe family will receive friends Friday, August 9, 2019 from 4-7 PM at Jeffers Funeral Chapel at Afton. The funeral service will follow visitation in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9AM Saturday, to go in procession to the 10 AM graveside service at Greystone FWB Cemetery.
