Gary Wilds

Gary Lee Wilds of the Union Temple Community fell asleep in death on August 26, 2022. Gary was born in Sidney, Ohio on April 7, 1957 to Landon and Marlene Wilds.
Gary was a 1975 graduate of South Greene High School. Immediately after graduation, he joined the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, CA. aboard the USS Pintado. Eventually returning home to Greeneville, he went to work at Greeneville Industries, and later Pet Milk.
To know Gary was to love him. He never met a stranger. Always smiling, gentle giant, Teddy bear, selfless, always making others laugh, most loving husband and father possible. If ever there was a “people Person”, it was him. His two favorite things were spending time with his family and speaking to others about the Bible. His favorite scripture Zephaniah 3:9 says-in-part-“So that all of them may call on the name of Jehovah, To serve him shoulder to shoulder.” He dedicated his life in baptism to his God, Jehovah on April 5, 1997.
Gary and his wife Tammy married on January 14, 1989. They enjoyed 33 1\2 wonderful years together. In addition to his wife, Gary is also lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law Garrett and Cassandra Wilds: Parents: Landon and Marlene Wilds:Father –In-Law and mother-in- law : Johnny and Janet Sinks: Brother: Bill (Lisa) Wilds: Sisters Sharlene Wilds and Lisa West: Sisters-in-law: Stephanie Sinks and Ashley (Phillip) Graham: Special Uncle: Joe Bowers: Several nephews, nieces, uncles,, aunts and many other family and friends that he dearly loved.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 3-6 pm at Jeffers Funeral Service Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 6 pm in the funeral home chapel with Chuck Carter and Richard Humberstone officiating.
