Gail Franklin

Gail Franklin age 70 of the Sunnyside Community went to be with the Lord at her home Saturday January 27, 2024. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to all. She enjoyed being around family. She was a teacher for 30 + years in the Greene County School System. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 41 yrs Tony Franklin, 2 daughters Cammie Fowler and Brittany Franklin and her fiance Boyd Knaack, grandchildren Jordan Peterson and Ava Lawhorn, mother Betty Ricker, sisters Carlene Ricker and Vaughn, and Melissa Ricker, sisters-in-law Donna Brown, Shelby Childers (Steve Swecker), nieces and nephews Jason and Torri Emmette and Russell and Amber Emmette, Jennifer and Todd Douglas, and Ashley McIntyre, special friends Becky Thomason, Keith Cutshaw, Brenda Winslow, Brenda and Darrell Brackens, Angie Tipton, and Yhona Jones, several special aunts, uncles, cousins, and great nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her father Sam Ricker, son Michael Franklin, father-in-law and mother-in-law Fred and Mary Franklin, brothers-in-law Johnny Brown and Ricky Cutshaw. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday February 2, 2024 at Jeffers Funeral at Afton. A memorial service will follow at 8pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Smith and Pastor John Buchanan officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mt Pisgah Cemetery at a later date.
