Rev. Dr. Jack Lamar Kirkendall, ThD "Paw Paw" age 72 of Greeneville passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022. He was born October 30, 1950 in Sandusky, OH, the son of Rev. Russel Kirkendall and wife Wanda Cortson Kirkendall. In 1968 he attended Southern Bible College in Houston, TX where he met the love of his life Miriam Marie Walker and later married on July 3, 1971 in Paris, TN. He then attended Lee University and the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, in Cleveland, TN. He pastored in OH, TN, and MO. He was a faithful man of God and a member of the Church of God, Cleveland, TN. He was an Ordained Bishop for 50 yrs. He loved his family and his St Louis Cardinals. He was a gifted musician, theologian, confidant, and comedian. He was the greatest husband, father, and Paw Paw. He faithfully served and loved his Hill Street Church of God family in Greeneville, TN. He was kind in the midst of hate and forgave when others sought vengeance. He is survived by his son Timothy Paul Kirkendall of Charleston, SC and three grandchildren Taylor (Marco) Cardenas of Charleston, SC, Abigail (Jackson) Hunt of Charlston, SC and Clayton Walker Black of Cleveland, TN; son-in-law Sam Black, one brother Andrew (Kay) Kirkendall, two sisters Shirley Yerkes, Judy (Rev. Gerald) Fowler. He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his daughter Alicia Black. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm Saturday at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown. The memorial service will follow at 5pm in the funeral home chapel.
