Jackie “Tommy” Bowman, age 80, of Tusculum, passed away Friday,February 28, 2020 at Greeneville Community Hospital East.Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife of 58 years: Linda Elaine Bowman; 4Daughters & Sons in Law: Vickie & Rusty Shanks of Chuckey, Mavis & BenWare of Afton, Alesia & Ricky Hampton of Afton, Bettina & AlanBookhamer of Greeneville; 7 Grandchildren & their spouses: Jackie &Vivat Shanks, Annie & Tim McKinney, Garrett & Sarah Ware, Wesley Ware,Devin & Ashleigh Ware, Andrew & Katrina Hampton, Tanna Bookhamer;Great Grandchildren: Ariel McKinney, Cole Ware, Kate Ware, WilliamWare, Levi Hampton, Matilda Hampton: Sister & Brother in Law: Betty &Gene Hopson; Sisters in Law & Brother in Law: Marcena Bowman, Phyllis& Clark Hensley; Several Nieces and NephewsPreceded in Death by: Parents: Jack & Edith Bowman: Brother: RoyBowman; Granddaughter: Jessica Hampton; Son: Michael MillerMr. Bowman retired from the maintenance department at Alltrista Inc.He went to Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church as long as his healthpermitted, where he enjoyed his Sunday School class and the preaching.He enjoyed fishing and sports of all kinds. He loved hunting for morel mushrooms. Being a grandfather and great grandfather was one of hisgreatest joys.The family will receive friends Monday from 1-3 & 5-7 PM atJeffers Funeral Chapel at Afton. Funeral services will followvisitation at 7:00 PM. Rev. Billy Gragg will officiate withgrandchildren -providing the music and stories about theirgrandfather. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM in UnionChapel Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeralhome Tuesday at 12:00 PM to go in procession to the cemetery.Granddaughters and nieces will serve as flower girls. Grandsons willserve as pallbearers.
