James Cannon, 92, of Limestone, caught his flight home Monday, July 22, 2019 at his home.\n \nHe was a member of Oakdale Union Church, and was saved at 12 years old.\n \nJames was a dairy farmer. He sold Grade A milk. He was a rural mail carrier for 37 years, and was also a farm appraiser for Farmer’s Insurance.\n \nHe is survived by 4 nieces: Nancy and Marvin Fields and Karen Morley of Atlanta, Ann John of Chattanooga, Lisa Grinstead of Limestone; nephew: Thomas Baskette of Telford; cousins: Bill and Glennis Huffman, Mary Child, Mary Ruth Jeffers, Fannie Kate and Tom Chase; caretakers: Mamie King and Elizabeth Derry; special friends: Bill Kyker, and Maxine Kirkpatrick.\n \nHe was preceded in death by his wife: Elizabeth Cox Cannon; parents: Carl and Vada Cannon.\n \nThe family would like to express a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice; Lisa and Shauna, and especially Dr. Joshua Stone.\n \nThe family will receive friends Friday, July 26, 2019 from 2-4PM & 6-8PM at Jeffers Funeral Chapel at Afton. The funeral service will be held Saturday, at 2PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Woodward and Enos Kauffman officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Vale Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Casey, J.J.
