Johnny Sluder

Johnny Sluder, 84, passed away Tuesday morning, August 6th, at Greeneville community Hospital.

He is survived by his daughter: Karen Haire; son: Mark Sluder; grandson: Zachary Harie, great-grandson: Mason Haire; sisters: Betty Pleasant, and Jo Ann Foshie; brother-in-law: Franklin Thompson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Peggy and Eddie McCamey; sisters-in-law: Barbara Thompson and Ellen Thompson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; friend of the family: Tim Haire; and long time friends: Steve Luttrell and family.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Katherine, of 58 years; mother and stepdad: Marjorie and Owen Pleasant; brother: Billy Pleasant; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Woodrow and Lyda Thompson; brothers-in-law: Hershel Thompson, JC Thompson, and Howard Thompson; sister-in-law: June Thompson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Helen and Ed Jennings and Carolyn and Wayne Blazer.

The family will receive friends Saturday 1-3 pm at Jeffers Funeral Service at Afton. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dwayne Steele officiating. Interment will be in Graceland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be, Tim Haire, Zachary Haire, Steve Luttrell, Matthew Luttrell, Mike Dotson, and Billy Kincaid.
