Joshua Mackey

Joshua Logan Mackey also known as “Big Mac” or “Mackey” of Greeneville, TN was born on November 6th, 1980. He passed away at his home on April 8th, 2026. Joshua was a loving son, father, cousin, nephew, and friend to many. He is remembered by many as the best person with the biggest heart. Joshua was the most giving and loving person to everyone around him. He was a proud 1999 graduate of South Greene High School. Joshua had a love for sports and played offensive and defensive line during his time at South Greene High School and was an All Greene County football player 3x. His favorite football teams were the Buffalo Bills and the Carolina Panthers. He also had a love for old school video games. Joshua was a talented lyricist and singer. Some of his favorite bands included AC/DC, Korn, and Metallica. He was the lead singer in his bands, Kumacell and Riff/Raff. He enjoyed performing with his Kumacell bandmates (Roger Sams, Andy Gregg, Eric Shelton, and Tony Trent) and Riff/Raff bandmates (Nathan Suggs, Dakota Suggs, Dylan Babb, and Eric Shelton) and truly came alive on the stage.

He is survived by his loving parents Pamela and Steven Bentley, his father Sonny Mackey, his daughters Abigail (Trey Tweed) and Sophia Mackey (Ryan Jeffers), aunts and uncles Gail Blankenship, Terrilynn and Jamie Gulley, Brian and Jackie Boles, and cousins Jackson and Catharine Blankenship, Christopher Robinson, Brian (BJ), Randy, Blaine, and Austin Boles, Hannah Sizemore, Isaiah Gulley, and many more family members and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Amy Louise Boles, Aunt and Uncles Linda Boles, Kevin Boles, and George Blankenship.

The family will hold visitation on Tuesday April 14th, 2026 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown. There will be no services or funeral following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
