Lacy Jackson Jr

–

Greeneville, Tennessee

Lacy Stewart “Buster” Jackson, Jr., age 80, of Greeneville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on July 30, 1946, to Lacy Stewart Jackson Sr. and Mayme Eldridge.

Buster, as he was affectionately known, was a member of the last graduating class of George Clem and a proud member of the Wolverines football, basketball, and baseball teams. His love of sports stayed with him throughout his life, and he was a devoted fan of the Tennessee Vols and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Buster worked at Pet Milk/Pillsbury for 26 years before retiring, forming many lifelong friendships along the way. Even after retirement, he continued working in roles that allowed him to care for others. A member of Friendship Baptist Church, he was a true gentleman who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

In his younger years, he enjoyed taking road trips. Later in life, he faithfully made his rounds through the neighborhood, following a familiar routine and route. He was happiest behind the wheel, riding through the old neighborhood and taking trips down memory lane. Whether reminiscing about old times or analyzing the latest ball game, he cherished the simple joy of a good drive and great conversation.

He is survived by his four sons, Jonathan Anderson, Jamie (Jade) Stewart, Josh Radar, and Morris Stewart; two daughters, Kennette Whiteside and Crystal (Donnie) McCoy; a very special brother-in-law, Joe Miller; two sisters-in-law, Lynnette Humphreys and Kandy Humphreys; several nieces and nephews, including five special nieces, Katrina and Sheryl Rogers, Michelle Nicely, Jolita Miller and Renee Anderson; special nephew; Fabian Jackson; several special cousins: a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friends and extended family members Wayne Horton, James Gudger, Pete Lollar, and Rick Richmond; and classmate and friend Treva Edmonds.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Diane Lynn Jackson, Frances Marie Miller, and Sylvia Eldora Flack, Son Jerome Kent Stewart; his beloved Grandmother Hannah F. Crum and his great-aunts and uncles, Gerald and Sylvia Bowers, and Dan and Ruth Hall.

Those who knew Buster will remember the help he freely offered, the friendships he treasured, his kindness, and humor, he will be deeply missed by his family and the many people whose lives he touched. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 343 Davis Street, Greeneville, Tennessee, with the memorial to follow at 3 pm. The Rev. C.C Mills Jr. will officiate. The inurnment columbaria will be at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens at a later date.
