Louis "Jim" Bourguignon

–

Greeneville, Tennessee

Long time Saugerties resident Louis “Jimmy” Bourguignon passed away on February 20, 2024, after a brief hospital stay in Johnson City, Tennessee. Jimmy was born on August 20, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio to Elita and Conrad Bourguignon. A few years later in 1949 the family moved to Saugerties and founded what was known as the Saugerties Diner. After graduating from High School, Jimmy was a long-term employee with the Saugerties Central School District as a custodian until his retirement.
In his younger years Jimmy could often be found spending his time bowling in various leagues, as well as, at many Saugerties Athletic Association events as an avid spectator from his residence on Market Street. He was also often found at the Village Diner sharing laughs with friends over coffee. In addition, Jimmy enjoyed playing cards with family and never found a puzzle he could not conquer.
In 2007 the family relocated to Greenville, Tennessee. He is survived by his beloved sister-in-law Christine Bourguignon of Greenville, TN; nephew Conrad Bourguignon and his wife, Amy Bourguignon of Saugerties, NY; niece Tina (Bourguignon) Lombardo and her husband Shawn Lombardo of Greeneville, TN; a grandnephew Shawn Lombardo; and grandnieces Christiana Lombardo and Mia Bourguignon. He was predeceased by his brother Conrad “Conny” Bourguignon in 2015.
The family will honor Jimmy’s memory with a celebration of life ceremony to be held at a later date.
