Lynn Edward Broyles, 79, of Greeneville, passed away Tuesday at Greeneville\nCommunity Hospital East.\nLynn was born in Greeneville, TN and graduated from Greeneville High School,\nClass of 1962. After High School, he attended ETSU and served in the Air Force\nNational Guard. Lynn was a past president of The Greeneville Jaycee’s and a past\nboard member of Holston Home for Children. Lynn was a lifelong member of\nTrinity United Methodist Church of Greeneville. He began attending Trinity as a\nyouth and later served as a Youth leader and Sunday School Teacher. He was\npreceded in death by his parents Donald and Inelle Broyles, also of Greeneville.\nLynn was a career life insurance professional and prided himself with helping\nothers provide a legacy for their families. He was a wonderful husband, father, and\ngrandfather, who was loved dearly by his family. Lynn also had a host of special\nlifelong friends, who were a big part of his life. Survivors include his wife of 53\nyears Carolyn (Allison). Lynn had one son and daughter-in-law; John-Paul and\nHope Broyles (Davis), and one grandson, Alex Broyles, who was his golfing\nbuddy.\nLynn had a strong passion for reading and loved his books. He would often say, “if\nyou have a book, you will always have a friend.” Lynn was known for his wit and\nloved to share his humor with others. He also loved coffee and you could find him\nat Ingles on most mornings.\n\nThe family will receive friends from 4-6 on Saturday at Jeffers Mortuary\n(downtown location) with the service to follow at 6. The Rev. Sarah Varnell will be\nofficiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Greeneville Greene\nCounty Public Library.
