Mary Bible

Mary Elizabeth Bible age 92, of Greeneville, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2026 in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born, January 30, 1934 in Sullivan County, TN. She was the daughter of Thomas and Nola Cox of Kingsport, TN.

Elizabeth, known as "Nanny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, flowers, collecting porcelain dolls, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her five children, Margaret Janosik, James Massey (Nancy), Karen Lynch (Owen), Roger Massey and Randall Massey (Jill); 11 grandchildren, Jody Massey, Kimberly Waycaster (Joe), Stacy Harkleroad (Brad), Brandi Westmoreland, Wally Painter (Crystal), Jessica Edwards, Kellie Quick, Cody Lynch (Emily), Renee Clark (Adam), Dustin Massey (Alicia), Randa Massey, and Dylan Massey; and 21 great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special caregivers Mildred Carter and Amy Foulks. Special thanks to the Caris Hospice team.

She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Luke Carson Massey; husband, JD Bible; parents, Tom and Nola Cox; three brothers, Fred, Donald, and Wayne Cox; three sisters, Veda Crawford, Iva Cox, and Ruth Hill.

The graveside will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 2 pm at Piney Grove FWB Church cemetery in White Sands community, with Pastor Eddie Malone officiating. Pallbearers will be family.
