Mary Martha "Marty" Miles

Mary Martha "Marty" Miles, age 86, of Greeneville passed away Sunday September 20, 2026 surrounded by her family. She retired from Magnavox and was a member of Trinity UM Church, being a proud member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class. She was an active member of the Greeneville YMCA, where she played basketball, and also a participant in the senior Olympics creating lasting friendships. Marty lived her life with a deep devotion to God, her family, and her friends. Known for her independent spirit, positive attitude, and wonderful sense of humor, she was truly a friend to everyone who knew her. Marty will be deeply missed by all.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law Dave and Blair Miles and Ron and Cindy Miles, grandchildren Alexandra and Austin Towler, Elizabeth Miles, Meredith Miles, Tyler Miles, Dylan Miles, and Ryan Miles, two sisters Jewel Burger and Judy Bible, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John H. "Johnny" Miles, parents William David and Nova Tranbarger, great aunt who raised her Beulah Williams, three brothers Russell, Carroll, and Ronald Eugene Tranbarger.

The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Thursday September 24, 2026 at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown. The funeral service will be Friday 1pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Stuart Albee officiating. The burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and family.
