Nellie J. Lamb Roberts, age 84, of Baileyton, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday morning surrounded by her family and close friends. She faithfully attended Caney Creek Primitive Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed going to church more than anything. She also found joy in providing for others through food and her loving care.\n\nShe is survived by her husband of 60 years James Roberts; daughter and son in law: Jama and Chad Cannon; Daughter in Law: Jackie Farris of Sulphur, LA; grandsons: Reid Cannon, Corbin Cannon, and Derek Riddle; special friend whom she thought of as a daughter: Yvette Lamb; brother and sister in law: Howard and Eudima Lamb; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.\n\nShe was preceded in death by two sons; Steve Farris and Gary Farris; her parents: Joe and Aretta Lamb; brothers: Dewey Lamb and Paul Lamb; sister: Willie Kate Lamb.\n\nThe family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-7 PM at Jeffers Funeral Service downtown. The funeral service will follow visitation at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Harmon officiating. The graveside service will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in Cross Anchor Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 10:00 AM to prepare to go in procession to the graveside service. Reid Cannon, Corbin Cannon, Chad Thornburg, Russell Frye, JW Lamb, and Andy Lamb will service as Pallbearers. Robert Tucker, Everette Chambers, John R Carter, and John Dunn will be Honorary Pallbearers. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Daniel Lewis and the staff of Amedysis Hospice.
