Norma Jean Thompson 87 passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at her home. She was a 1954 graduate of Baileyton High School. She retired from Ottway School and the Greene County Central Office. She was a member of New Lebannon Church. Psalm 23 was her favorite scripture and Amazing Grace was her favorite song.\n\nShe was preceded in death by a sister in law Joyce Weems, brother Roy Weems, mother Nell Weems, and father Cecil Weems.\n\nShe is survived by a brother Donald Weems of Lost Mountain, nephews Jeff (Yvonnda) Weems of Johnson City, Marty (Susan) Weems of Pheonix Arizona, great nephews Denver (Cyndall) Weems and Caleb Weems, great nieces Natascha (Viktor) Pyl, Savannah Weems, Alexandra Weems, Makenna Weems, Lacy Marshall, Kaci Large.\n\n\n\nThe family will receive friends Saturday November 18, 2023 from 3-6 PM at Jeffers Funeral Service downtown. The funeral service will be at 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Nathan Reynolds officiating. Graveside services will be Sunday at 2:00 PM in Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Lost Mountain. Jeff Weems, Marty Weems, Denver Weems, Caleb Weems, Russell Frye, Bronson Carter, and Brad Sauceman will serve as pallbearers.\n\nThe family would like to extend a thank you to her caregivers Catherine McCoy, Elizabeth Newton, Geraldine Weems, Jan Sopshier and Nathan Reynolds.
