Ray Allen Sr.

Ray L. Allen Sr, of Greeneville formerly of Four Oaks, NC, passed away Monday June 1, 2026 at his home.

He was retired from Magnavox after 16 years of service and owner of Allen's Excavating until 2008. He was a US Army veteran and helped in leadership for 40 years with the Alcoholics Anonymous.

He is survived by his wife Dawn Temple Allen, 2 sons and daughters-in-law Ray Jr. and Daphne Allen and Kevin and Roberta Allen, grandchildren Cody and Hailey Allen, Kayla Allen, Matthew and Kamryn Allen, Garren Allen, and Samuel Allen and fiancé Alexis Laughlin, great grandchildren Madeline Allen, Malachi Allen, Mateo Allen, and Keio Allen, brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Susie Allen, nieces Amy and Robbie Taylor and Lisa and Jay Grady and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elton and Lola Mae Allen, sister Janice Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 12-2pm Friday June 5, 2026 at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Anthony Payne officiating. The burial will follow in Graceland Memorial Gardens with the Greene County Honor Guard conveying military honors. Pallbearers will be Quinton Brandon, Mason Brandon, Cody Allen, Matthew Allen, Samuel Allen, and Jay Grady. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Gentiva Hospice and Silver Angels and a special Dr. Carla Nickle.
