Vernon Tipton, 92, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at his home in Greeneville, with his family by his side. He was a native of Marshall, NC. He loved to Ginseng hunting and making moonshine. He was a farmer and truck driver by trade.\n\nHe was the son of the late Jasper and Bonnie Cutshall Tipton. Preceded in death by one son Butch Tipton, 3 brothers: Wayne Tipton, Hoy Tipton, Dallas Tipton; 3 sisters: Eilene Silvers, Ollie Crawford, & Katherine Rice.\n\nMr Tipton is survived by his children Squeakie Metcalf & Mike, Mike Tipton & Vicky, Tim Carmichael & Vic, Jackie Boles & Brian, Debbie Tipton; 1 brother: Blake Tipton; 1 brother-in-law: Edger Rice; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren.\n\nThe family would like to thank the Amedysis Hospice Team.\n\nThere will be a graveside service held at 11am Monday August 15, 2022 at Mountain Home National Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard will convey military honors.\n\nPallbearers will be: grandson Mickey Tipton, great grandson Nathaniel King, great grandson Bryston King, grandson- in- law Jimmy Cutshall, Clarence "Bubba Boles, grandson Tyler Cobb.
